Three King’s Parade in Caleta de Fuste- 5th January

On the evening of the 5th January the Three Kings parade through Caleta de Fuste, on a route from the harbour to the plaza.  It starts around 4.30pm. Crowds gather to watch, especially the Spanish children, who are waiting to give the Kings their wish lists.

In most of the large towns on the island there are 3 King’s parades on the 5th January (usually in the evening) . The Kings ride camels and after the parade they collect the children’s wish lists.

On the night of 5th Jan/6th Jan the Kings deliver presents to children (and some adults) while they are sleeping. It is a more important festival than Christmas here.

January 6th (the 12th day of Christmas) is a bank holiday for Epiphany.
