100% agree GeoffUTV.
Ryanair cancelled flights to Fuerteventura until April! So much for jab and go!
Keep safe everybody
I was impressed as I had a personal call from Jet2 this morning following my on line question. The Customer Contact Rep. said they had a team meeting yesterday to discuss the vaccine and the potential effects on travel. The way things are deteriorating and the slowness of the vaccine uptake in Europe they forecast there will be little difference in travel restrictions until the summer at the earliest.

Ryanair had a flight to Fuerte today , 13:55 from East Midlands . Would they have refunded customers, couldn’t travel due to lockdown? Also still taking bookings in February for flights from Manchester .
I read elsewhere that a Ryaniar flight came in the other day from Stansted with no-one on it and picked up 9 for the return journey

Was due to fly out 27th February from East Midlands. Ryanair cancelled flights today. Contacted Ryanair to rearrange as hoping to come out before Easter only to be informed that all flights are being cancelled until April unless bringing tourists back to UK. Also advised to seek a refund as they wouldn't move flights to September!
Based on current UK position regards covid, and the fact that tourists will still need a negative PCR test result regardless of being vaccinated in and out of UK.
Its going to be very long year!
I’m expecting my flight on 19th Feb to cancelled. Will then book for late March .
I think most of us agree, Ryanair is OK until there is a problem, then it's tough luck on customers we hold your money & if we change the goal posts to suit ourselves,, basically hard luck.
I gave up on this airline a couple of years ago, although their aircraft & flight attendants were good, obviously on the flight there was the big upscale hard sell for in flight extras, but if refused the cabin crew were still OK.
It annoyed me when booking 1st made, as I said changed goal posts, which cost us extra. Changed to jet2 although on 1st impressions seemed more expensive, when everything weighed up, was no dearer.
We have had 3 flts cancelled due to covid, never had to persue refund, it has come through automatically with emails advising when to expect.
Would I book with Ryanair, no. Would I book with jet2, yes when & if flights resume, but sadly not until this whole mess is sorted out. Can't justify paying up to £600 extra for pcr tests for outgoing & incoming flights & the stress for getting results in time.
Take care everyone & please abide by the rules, maybe then we can fly again to our favourite destination.
@amlod Spot on there amlod , agree 100% . Found that some Ryanair flights usually work out dearer with all their extra fees added on . Jet2 or Tui for me . Hoping things will improve sooner rather than later . Fingers crossed for the summer.
A lot of tourist cancellations in the face of the critical situation in the United Kingdom
Some British tour operators and airlines come together to cancel their vacation packages or air connections during the coming weeks of January, until the state of the health situation in the United Kingdom improves, as the Island Tourism Board of Fuerteventura has been able to contrast throughout the morning of today. In the United Kingdom today the cumulative incidence of positive cases in the last 7 days is 614.1 per 100,000 inhabitants ( AI 7 ) :
1.- British Airways Holidays cancels sale of its holiday packages from today
2.- TUI UK has cancelled its sales until mid-February 2021
3.-Easyjet will cancel frequencies and routes, offering possibility of changes or credit in future company vacation packages.
4.-Ryanair will reduce frequencies that can be effective from today until February or March 2021
5.-Jet2 has cancelled sales until February 12 (in principle)

@alex hi although not received an email from jet2 yet for our flight 16th February, on news channels jet2 have cancelled all holidays & flights until 25th March. Not good for the islands or the uk. Having said that I would be concerned coming over. Not only because we could unwittingly spread the virus, but also the stress with pcr test etc & finding somewhere to do it but both outgoing & incoming & getting results on time. So although not happy, that is an understatement, in some very small way sort of relieved. We will get the cost of our flights refunded. Just wish things had been different, but look forward to coming again in the not too distant future 🤞
Spain has today extended it's ban on UK tourists/flights from the UK to February 2nd.
Jet2 extends sales suspension until March 25.
Only five international flights land on Wednesday in Fuerteventura.
After today's press conference it looks like all fights will be cancelled from England until at least Easter. Its being reported that Lockdown restrictions staying in place until at least 5th April and followed by tier four restrictions when eventually lifted.
On the bright side vaccination has gone well but availability is now a problem with many areas recieving half the doses expected over the next two weeks.
Keep safe everyone!
@haggers0 we were put into tier 4 just before lockdown, jumping from tier 2.to be honest from our point of view, there was not a huge difference. I can't wait to go away again, but realistically even if we manage to get the vaccine (apparently we are 4th in line) until the mandatory pcr tests are relaxed, paying appropriately £600 per couple in & outbound it's sadly not an option.
Having said that I understand why governments are implementing the pcr test, however even having a negative test returning to the uk you still have to self isolate for at least 5 days, if you then pay for a further pcr test, otherwise its 10 days. I honestly can't see people doing this, & what cost if a family is 3 or 4?
But maybe finger crossed 🤞 things might get back to some sort of normality in the next months.
Hoping everyone gets through this unscathed
