Pueblo Majorero Development at Fuerteventura Golf Club
Anyone reading this sign a purchase contract as we did with an 18 month build clause? We signed when the building licence was obtained in June 18 stating they have to hand the building over by 31st December 19, i take it to mean they would otherwise be in breach of contract, it suggests we can have all deposit money paid returned plus interest. I am sure many others will be in the same position. This was mentioned when we visited a couple of months back after they told us completion would likely be Feb 20 but they quickly changed the subject. I am hoping this deadline might push them a little to finish.
A two month delay on a big project does not seem unduly long to me. As always you have a choice; done right or done fast.
I appreciate that you are anxious to get your villa, but are you really saying you will walk away if it is late?
The Spanish do not look at things this way and time and time again I have seen British people cause bad feelings by taking an aggressive attitude.
I don't suggest you should be passive, but even when you move in there will probably be snags to deal with. People often respond better to honey than vinegar.
I agree with your comments and we certainly don't want to create any bad feelings towards the developer, we signed the reservation contract in April 18, were told late Autumn 19 and then December 19 and now Feb 20. Meanwhile we have the issue of Brexit still to be resolved. Contractually was set in stone as December 19 once we signed the proper contract, so any delays have issues on both sides, we will have a talk with them when we return in October and we have a return visit booked for late December, i have a feeling they will be completed but maybe not ready for occupation whilst they finish the whole site, they quoted H&S to us saying nothing can be occupied until the whole site is signed off which makes sense of course. I am keen to see how many have been sold so far.
