I have received the following email from my Electricity provider, what appears odd about it to me is despite it being a substantial increase, I have heard nothing about it previously, and I would have thought it would have been mentioned on social media before now, has anyone else received a similar communication?
"We would like to inform you about some important changes implemented by the government that will increase your electricity bill in 2025.
Please see below the government measures:
VAT increase: VAT on electricity to rise from 10% to 21% (More information here)
System charges: The government has proposed to increase bill charges by 33%. (More information here)
Energy Tolls: For some periods they have decreased but for others they have increased (more information here).
It is important to underline that Evergreen Eléctrica has no influence on these costs, which correspond only to the new charges imposed by the government"
Bearing in mind we don't have VAT here, it's either a scam or, if genuine, a bulk email sent to all their customers. Ignore it.
However, I was interested to see you get your electricity from them and not the usual Endesa.
Do you have solar panels?
How long have you been with them? Have you had any problems?
I have been with them for about 3 years and had no issues until now, I was previously with another mainland provider whose name I forget for about 2 years and both were considerably cheaper than Endessa. Thanks for the reply.
I obviously queried this with my provider, and allegedly, it will not affect us as we live outside the mainland.
We contacted Evergreen and they requested a copy of our latest bill from Endesa. Sadly they said they couldn't better Endesa!
@jill We moved from Endessa about 7 years ago to a provider I cannot recall the name of, and at the time they were considerably cheaper, but then gradually they got more expensive, which led to us switching to Evergreen, it might be time to switch to Endessa again.
