It may be locals but not only them.

The Civil Guard dissolves a party in Las Agujas de Corralejo Beach :

"

Whistleblowers are tourists of various nationalities who were in breach of the current regulations regarding the protection and containment measures of the Covid-19

NEWS NEWS NEWSFERTEVENTURA

Agents of the Corralejo Civil Guard in coordination of the Local Olive Police, proceeded on January 14th to identify 17 people for breaching the protection and containment measures of Covid 19.

At about 20:30 hours of the aforementioned day, agents of the Main Post of Corralejo and Local Police of La Oliva, detected a group of people who were gathered on the beach of Las Agujas, of the municipality of La Oliva. All of them, they are on vacation on the island and were surprised consuming alcoholic beverages and smoking, in breach of current regulations regarding the use of mask, safety distance and number of people allowed in meetings.

Once identified, they were proposed for sanction, in accordance with Decree Law 14/2020 of 4 September establishing the sanctioning regime for non-compliance with prevention and containment measures against Covid 19.

The offences in which these persons have committed carry different penalties in different concepts and typifications. These range from 100 euros those classified as mild, for not carrying or not carrying the mask correctly, which prevents mouth or nose emissions, as well as smoking on public roads without guaranteeing the proper safety distance of 2 meters.

However, alcohol consumption on public roads in a group of more than 10 people is criminally criminal offences, with penalties ranging from EUR 3,001 to EUR 60,000.

The Civil Guard reports that jointly with agents of the Local Police of la Oliva, the intensification of police containment and prevention devices of Covid-19, in the northern area of Fuerteventura, will continue, aimed at avoiding an increase in contagions or new pockets of Covid 19.

"

Fed up with all those.... locals and-or tourists.  Most of us are careful.   The next threats now are the british, south african and brazilian variants of the CV-19.  We must stay at home and avoid to travel all over the world because we just would like it.  Nobody  want  to see better days level 1 in March/April.

@alex I agree Alex, if any tourists regardless of nationality should be banned from entering in future If breaking the rules & immediately deported. Not sure what you can do about locals, but maybe impose stricter fines & enforcement.

Having said that I wish they would enforce & we had the police to ensure restrictions in the UK  but sadly that's not the case. UK government now putting all our hopes on the vaccine, but until this as rolled out to the whole population, we are just going to encounter these morons who think all rules don't apply to them

. It's no good appealing on this forum for everyone to obey to take note, & in the future we can all return, because no one disagrees. It's getting through to the idiots who are ignorant. Really wish I could be more positive.
