A short cruise this morning to the end of the navigable section of the Ashby Canal. Filled up with water, turned around and moored up. A walk up the canal this afternoon which hasn't been in water due to mining subsidence up to the 1960's.

Tiling a bathroom floor earlier

Got home and had an hour in the garden tidying up the strawberry patch and watering the plants in the greenhouse.

Stayed on the boat all morning and worked through a list of small jobs, as it was very windy. Went for a short walk this afternoon and then another to a post box. A class at 6.30pm then moving the boat a short distance through the Snarestone Tunnel.

We're going to try and walk to Twycross Zoo today. It's a 4 km walk using footpaths across the fields.

The zoo is famous for monkeys, gibbons and apes. It was the home of the famous PG Tips chimps and I saw chimps tea parties their as a child. It's all very different now, and there's a wide range of animals and reptiles.

A short cruise to Market Bosworth, close to the place where Richard III was killed.
