Traveled to Cork for work today, it was-2’C at 8:30 when I left and it was 5’C when I got to Cork, left Cork around 2:45 and it was 7’C, when I got home at 17:30 it was 2’C. Lucky no snow. But snow forecast for tonight.

Red - We hope to get to Castle Marina. The Rivers Soar and Trent are not good to navigate at this time of year but we got behind schedule due to fallen trees and lock closures.

Minus 3 overnight. Preparation for some more painting this morning and a walk to Aldi. Classes this afternoon.

@caletafuerteventura a nice marina, quite close to the city centre and lots of shops nearby.

Another very cold day. Started tiling a bathroom, fortunately the house has heating.

Tonight ordered some Spanish food from a supplier based in the UK in time for xmas. Lots of cheese, chorizo, ham, paella rice & red wine

The rivers are now open so we are setting off when it gets light in the morning for a cruise to Nottingham. It should take 8 hours so we need all the daylight we can. If we don't make it to the marina we'll do a night stopover in Beeston before heading to the marina on Saturday morning (before Storm Bert arrives).

Set off on the cruise at 7.15 when it got light. On to the River Soar, the River Trent and the Nottingham and Beeston Canal. Arrived at Nottingham Castle Marina at 3.30. A total of 19 miles and 10 locks.

Went to watch the rugby last night. Quite enjoyed it, a high scoring game.

Got to work over the weekend to catch up from not being able to work earlier in the week because of the snow.

Had an excellent meal at the Waters Edge pub last night.

One class this morning. Continuing with my inside painting this afternoon while listening to the Foxes v Chelsea game.

Went out for a Nepalese meal last night with friends of ours, first time eating Nepalese and it was delicious, then to a local pub for several drinks and back to our friends to stay in their house last night. Home now going to watch the rugby all afternoon, France 🇫🇷 are playing Argentina 🇦🇷 at the moment. Ireland 🇮🇪 play Fiji 🇫🇯 later.

we've got a few local Nepalese restaurants nearby. Lovely food and different to the usual curry places.

Mrs CtM and myself went shopping today for our annual elderly folks Christmas presents. We always buy 2 presents each for 2 elderly women and 2 elderly men. We include things like puzzle books, adult colouring books with coloured pencils, soft sweets like marshmallows and jelly’s, warm socks, wash sets with shower gel etc. and we always include a Christmas decoration, this year we got lovely miniature Christmas trees. We give them into our local nursing home where there are always a number of elderly residents who are state placed and have no family. We always include a Christmas card wishing them a happy Christmas.
