Walked into Daventry this morning to buy bread, fruit and veg. Classes this afternoon.
A long cruise of 19 miles today up the Leicester Branch of the Grand Union Canal. We set off at 9.20 and filled up with water after a 15 minute cruise. Set off again at 10 and passed through the 7 Watford Gap locks, the 1397 metre Crick Tunnel and the 1071 metre Husbands Bosworth Tunnel. We moored up at 6.20 just before dark, after a mainly sunny day.
Took my niece and nephew to Nottingham goose fair last night. Went on a few rides and had a large portion of mushy peas with mint sauce, candy floss and hot dogs

One class this morning. Set off on an 11 mile cruise to Market Harborough Wharf. We went down the 10 locks at Foxton Locks.

Got in home late from Italy, been there since Wednesday with my cousin visiting a friend who bought an old doer upper house in the mountains north of Turin. Very pretty area, mountains, valleys and the Po river. We had a great time with lots of Italian cheeses and meats to eat.

@nottingham-red no, as my drinking partners are white wine drinkers, so I was drinking Italian bier , the Bier Moretti that’s ice filtered is lovey.

A few jobs in the garden this morning digging up runner beans and putting the canes away and tidying the vegetable patch.
