Cocos Kitchen is re-opening in a different location on 16 March, after being closed for some time.It serves Asian street food. It's in the building behind El Patio which was previously the ARC Luxury Detail car shop, and before that the notary office.

Just a word of warning, you need a reservation to eat here and they don’t do a takeaway.

We had lunch there yesterday, it is quite small around 20/24 covers, well decorated, and the staff extremely friendly, the food was excellent different but excellent, we arrived at 13:00 just as they were opening, and were able to get a table of which 2 { 8 covers ) were reserved by 13:30 it was just about full with the exception of the two reserved tables, I had Teriyaki Duck management Chinese style, Spaghetti Bolognese my duck came with Chinese cabbage which I Like but looks a little off-putting if you have not seen it before and was as said excellent, managements came with roughly shredded cucumber which I thought to be a little strange, but having tasted it realised that the cooling effect of the cucumber was indeed required, these along with two glasses of wine and a bottle of water €43

We had dinner there last night, we arrived 30 mins before our reservation and were asked to come back at our reserved time as they had a party of 10 in for a birthday party. So we went of had a drink and  came back. This was one of the best Asian meals I have ever eaten, it brought back memories of visiting Thailand, Singapore, Bali, Gilli, and NT in Australia.

We have booked for our next visit in October.

Food was superb, service was excellent and well worth the money.

NOT A GREAT EXPERIENCE

We had a booking for 18:30 last night, arrived about 15 mins early, he explained that he had 2 large tables (1 x 8 and 1 x 5) ahead of us, we asked if we could sit and have a drink while waiting and he said yes. We went to our table which had a reserved sign on it. We were not even offered a  menu to read or a drink, he deliberately would not make eye contact with us. He served the table of 8 their meal, then proceeded to the table of 5 to start explaining their menu and selections when he could very easily have handed us a menu to read and taken a drinks order. People came to the door looking to see if the there were any vacancies and he totally ignored them. At one stage the chef went out to a family of about 6 people to explain that you need a reservation.

Eventually he came to us, his attitude was very bolchi when I explained that we would have liked to have had a drink as he had said we could when he told us we could take our seats. His explanation was I have to look after these tables they are my customers they are before you, no matter how much we explained that a simple curtesy of a menu to read and a drink during the 20 minutes we sat there like thicko's. He just wasn’t getting it, so we decided to leave, he wanted to know why and I explained his attitude was all wrong, he insisted it wasn’t.

I even explained that we were here in June, had a lovely meal , booked to come back on Oct 11 th for my birthday he took the booking wrote it in his book and even took a contact number, but when we arrived the place was closed, and we had not received any message to say it was closed. His response immediately’I LOST MY PHONE’ I said that he wrote the details in his reservation book, and he just kept insisting I lost the number because I lost my phone.

His tone and approach to us was very pompous, we’re not that badly stuck for a meal, there’s lots of other restaurants in Caleta.

NEEDLESS TO SAY WE WONT BE BACK.

When I originally read this, I was very surprised, as when we have been there, the waiter could not have been more courteous, however, last Tuesday I booked a table for lunch yesterday, "no problem sir, it will be nice to see you again" when we arrived five minutes late as they now have blocked all access roads to that part of town, we were met with "I am sorry sir we are fully booked with a private party " now while he was apologetic, he gave me the impression he could not care less, the restaurant was full and we were merely two customers in his very successful restaurant, it is safe to say I will not be returning any time soon.

OK referring to the above post, if I could delete it I would, but that not being possible I would like to set the record straight, I would never have gone back there, but those kinds of decisions are not for me to make, so we went there yesterday for lunch no reservations, not an issue, we had our meals, which were excellent, and the owner/waiter could not have been more polite when we came to pay he absolutely refused to let us pay and apologised profusely  for the problem on our last visit, I was amazed firstly that he remembered, and secondly his instance that we were not going to pay, I was protesting quite vehemently that we were, so he looked at me and said "Sir who makes the decisions in your house?" obviously I replied I do, to which he answered " Please have the courtesy to allow me to make the decisions in mine " at that point I gave up, he is a very confident guy and very sure of himself and reminded me of someone in their younger days 🙄🙄 at that point we leftafter leaving a fairly large tip, which he did not object to, and will be back there next week.
