The new China Town store on the Costa de Antigua industrial estate opens on Monday 19th November 2018. It looks as if it will sell just about everything and will be in competition with Superbarato the other Chinese shop just further down the street.
Thanks for update. Any idea where the new Lidl will be located? I can’t see any groundwork in the area.
It's going on the vacant land between Mercadona an Hiperjugettes. They haven't started yet.
Superbarato have smartened up their frontage as the competition prepares to open. I saw new outside lights as I drove by tonight.
A big inflatable up outside the China Town shop this morning. I saw it as I drove by. It's got a Welcome/Bienvenido message on it and two santas.
There are signs up outside the Superbarato advertising 50% off.
I drove by tonight and all the parking on the industrial estate was full, and cars were parked on the rough ground/hard shoulder of the main road.
I wonder what they could be selling that is any different to the other Chinese warehouses on the island?

A LOT more Stephen! It is totally unlike the other Chinese shops! It is also twice the size of Edem as they have extended the shop into the back storage warehouse.
But also, I expect a large number of people just wanted a butchers at the new place 🙂
But you really should go and have a look
[edit] No free gifts but yesterday they did have a welcome table with edible and drinkable goodies on it! And the staff are a lot more human and helpful than the others (which isn't hard to do LOL)
