After a meeting on 14/02/20 the Fuerteventura Cabildo have agreed to put right the problems at the site of the Antigua Craft Fair (which is traditionally held over the second weekend in May at the Cheese Museum/Antigua Windmill site) at a cost of 500,000€. However, the work won’t be completed until after the Summer, so the 2020 Craft Fair won’t be held until October or November.
The annual craft fair is held in Antigua, which is inland from Caleta de Fuste. The site is at the Cheese Museum/Antigua Windmill. It is held over the second weekend of May.
In 2019 it was held from 9-12 May.
Entrance is free and car parking is free.
Over 220 craft stalls are set up, with musical performances on the stage. Food and drink is also available.
A free bus ran from Caleta de Fuste in 2019 on Saturday and Sunday (morning and afternoon). Places on the bus had to be booked through the Tourist Information Office or a hotel reception.
School children from the island visit on the Friday morning, and Saturday and Sunday are busy days. Around 22,000 people visit.
